Washington State Director Chelsea Turnbull, with Obama for America, recently sent out an email calling for all Washingtonians to exercise their civic duties this weekend.
Along with Congressman Jay Inslee, you are invited to hit the Streets of Seattle this Saturday to help register people to vote.
In 2008, over 20 million people registered to vote for the first time, let’s keep this trend alive!
This Saturday, March 3rd there will be a voter registration drive in Seattle as a part of the “day of action,” during which citizens from all over the state will be asked to join together and help each other with the voter registration process.
Regardless of political affiliation, we need to get people voting and exercising their rights as citizens.
Many people wait until last minute to register, and in turn aren’t eligible to vote in the November elections.
What are your plans this Saturday? If you’re available at 10:00am there will be a meeting at the Plum Bistro for a short training (no prior experience is necessary); however, bring pens and a clip board if you can!
The registration will last until 2:00 pm, when the group will reconvene.
