This isn’t one of WWE’s blatant, acrobatic acts. This is real.
Not having been cultivated by the pressures of society and mass media, over-processed through “elite” training, or forced-fed others’ ideas and thoughts, natural born artists are what one particular organization calls RAW. RAW is an independent art organization dedicated to providing the resources, venues, and much-needed but hard-to-find exposure for natural talent. Fueled by those in local art communities and of all creative genres, RAW provides the wrestling ring platform for photography, art, film, performing art, music, fashion, and thus, hair and make-up.
And in this corner, painting out of Old Lyme, Connecticut, a Seattle University sophomore, majoring in anthropology with a french minor, and RAW’s newest featured Hair and Makeup artist–Ms. Phoebe Goodwin.
Previously featured in a Style Profile on The Spectator Blog and having worked for many on-campus production (i.e. Fashion Club’s 2011 Beauty Shoot, International Club’s Fashion Night, Casino Masquerade Night, and so on and so forth), you may be familiar with the rising artist’s works. Many 5 year-old girls, in springing pig tails and frilly dresses, dream of finding their Prince Charming and becoming a Princess–Goodwin dreamt of stepping into the ring as a makeup artist.
It’s no wonder then, that Goodwin has been recognized as one of Seattle’s next rising star. RAW entertainment includes a night of live music brought to you by DJ Wang, thought-provoking art, moving performances, and a fashion show featuring models clad in eco-friendly Stone Crow Designs and warrior paint via Phoebe Goodwin. Celebrate Goodwin’s artwork along with the community of RAW fans on June 2nd at 7pm in the iMusic ultra lounge found downtown, just beneath the Space Needle. Purchase the affordable $10 tickets via Goodwin’s profile site. The venue requires guests to be 21 and over.
There may be a ring, their may be many fans, and their may be incredible performances, but dress code does not include bathing suits and a number or American flag-printed singlets and faux blood. Dress code is cocktail attire.
