CHS: Public art causes legal two-step, gaybashing near campus, parking changes coming
Here’s some neat stories from the past few days at CapitolHillSeattle.com, our news partners who diligently cover our neighborhood.
- Not so cute response: Police are investigating a gaybashing that took place near campus at 11th Avenue and East Pine Street Saturday.
- Easier parking? It’s nearly impossible to drive down Broadway to go have dinner. So most of us walk. But some changes by the city may make it easier to find a spot.
- World-class cellist: Lauri Goldston played at Vermillion Wednesday.
- Dancing with the law: Ever dance on those metal dance steps along Broadway? We thought so. A local photographer is in hot water over copyright issues with the public art, reports CHS.
- Partnering for the future of news: Just in case you missed it, CapitolHillSeattle.com and The Spectator are partnering in news gathering. Here’s our editorial on the partnership.
- Scooped! I pitched a story about Seattle Central culinary last year sometime (or maybe I meant to and didn’t). I had heard from some students that the food is delicious. CHS beat us to the punch with this review. If you get a chance, head over to Square One Bistro and give it a try.
- Starbucks in hot water? CHS broke the news that a local artist was having some trouble getting her show hung in that fake Starbucks, Roy Street Coffee.
- A new horse in town: CHS writes about Unicorn’s early opening. Unicorn is replacing the (beloved by many at Seattle University) Satellite bar on East Pike Street. We’ve got photos here.
