Crappy Nantucket Nectar bottle cap fact of the week! #1

“The popular Nantucket Reds pants originated at Murray’s Toggery Shop on Nantucket.”

First of all, what the hell is a Toggery Shop? Toggery? That sounds like a Dickensian profanity or something. “Toggery and hoffenstuff, Heinrich! You shan’t be stealing away my Nantucket Reds anytime soon!”

Also- Nantucket Reds pants? Despite the bottle cap’s insistence that these pants are popular, I highly doubt it, as I’ve never ever ever heard of them. Ever.

Upon investigation, I discover the Murray’s Toggery website which is indeed marketing Nantucket Reds pants in a variety of hideous colors and styles. My favorite is the  ”Castaway Embroidered Corduroy” which one can customize with:

Pheasants

Pheasants

Snowmen

Lobsters

Lobsters

embroidered all up and down the legs.

And only $155.00 [plus shipping]!

Thanks for the heads up Nantucket Nectars!

    Funny…. but not accurate.
Those goofy embroidered cords you depict are not Nantucket Reds. Take another look at the website. Nantucket Reds are the faded brick red (some say pink) most famous among sailors and the like.
I did like the Dickens reference tho.’
