Look at all those plump little pumpkins. So seasonal too!
DAY 3
I almost don’t play today, because I am so busy with homework and tired from running today’s cross country practice.
I lie in bed and am about to go to sleep when I remember that my pumpkin patches may die if I don’t harvest them.
I try to ignore this and go to bed, but the thought of waking up the next morning to a patch full of putrid pumpkins disturbs me. I abruptly jump on my roommate’s laptop (I don’t have my own yet) even though he said moments before that he was about to use it. I mutter “dude, one sec, just one sec I promise,” to him, fully knowing this is a lie.
My pumpkins are beautiful and ripe for harvest.
I have tons of new gifts from people also! Peach trees, more elephants (lots more elephants), another chicken.
I log off and hand the computer back to its rightful owner. He checks his Facebook for a while, then we turn the lights out and exchange goodnights.
I lie in bed and realize the missed opportunity I had but moments before to expand my farm and make some real money. What’s the point of just harvesting my pumpkins when I could’ve planted some more over them? The new plants can grow overnight; it’ll be like I didn’t even have to wait at all!
I hop back on.
I realize I have earned a large sum of money by winning the daily lottery, so the expansion begins and I plant the hell out of my farm. I feel slightly bad for my roommate, the light glare from his own laptop shining in his eyes next to his bed as he tries to fall asleep, me fiendishly (and loudly) clicking on his Mac tap pad, commanding my tiny farmer self to plant in a feverish marathon.
I fall asleep content and exhausted.
